UNSCRIPTED – One Year of Weekly Talk with Mohanji

The Behind the scene & Preface from the Book “Unscripted”

Subhasree Thottungal, UK

UNSCRIPTED.

This book is a small yet potent extract of wisdom drawn from the weekly communication with Mohanji.

The Weekly Talk with Mohanji is not just another satsang or weekly gathering. What has been unfolding every Sunday has grown into something much larger a phenomenon.

A phenomenon of real questions, honest answers, and real transformations.

No filters. No judgments. No propaganda.

This book is a humble attempt to offer a glimpse into that phenomenon, which began on 18th May 2025.

I take this opportunity to share some behind-the-scene stories, as I have witnessed this unfolding from the very beginning week after week serving as the moderator of these sessions.

So here we go.

How It All Began

After the Maha Kumbh Mela and Mohanji’s 60th birthday celebrations, I was serving Mohanji as his PA during his visit to Sri Lanka for the Bhumi Puja of the Mohanji Datta Tapovan.

At that point, I requested Mohanji to conduct another advanced-level programme in the Empowered series. By this time, the Empowered programmes—including the Empowered 5 Silent Retreat had already been conducted multiple times, with hundreds of participants actively practising.

There was a need for the next level Empowered Advanced.

Mohanji agreed immediately and explained his vision for it. After he returned from Sri Lanka and once we had confirmed his availability, we finalised the dates. We then announced the programme: 9th to 11th May, a three-day live online programme.

Over 900 participants joined.

Before the programme began, Mohanji clarified that this would not merely be Empowered Advanced. He said this was actually “Beyond Empowered”, where he would share one of the most sacred techniques he had received through his communion with Mahavatar Babaji Splitting the Mind into Two.

What followed was wisdom beyond comprehension.

Not only did Mohanji explain the concepts in depth, but he also personally guided the practices. Participants were taken into an entirely different inner space almost another realm.

Each day, Mohanji also answered numerous questions, ensuring they remained on topic. After every session, he would speak with me to check whether participants were able to keep pace, and whether there were unresolved doubts or confusions.

On Day 2, after the session, he said to me:

“I know people have many questions. But I want to stay with this topic. This is deep and important, and I don’t want to dilute it. However, I will come back next Sunday and then people can ask me anything.”

I was taken aback.

His kindness, generosity, and deep compassion for the participants were palpable.

The Birth of a Weekly Revolution

On the final day of the programme, Mohanji announced that he would return the following Sunday for an open session questions on Beyond Empowered or anything else.

When the programme ended, participants were filled with joy, clarity, and a heightened inner state.

But Mohanji had more in mind.

He told us that not just the next Sunday, but every Sunday, he would come online for two hours to speak with people and answer their questions.

This was unbelievable.

Some senior team members felt it was unrealistic. A few even tried to change his decision. But Mohanji always knows why he does what he does. His actions come from a depth of purpose that the mind often cannot grasp.

And so, 18th May 2025 arrived.

That day marked the beginning of a quiet revolution—the birth of the Weekly Talk.

When I opened the first session, before Mohanji joined, I shared this entire story with everyone.

There was no structure.

No script.

No agenda.

We simply opened Zoom. Mohanji joined. He spoke. We listened.

Anyone with a question was allowed to ask. Mohanji answered patiently, lovingly, in depth until the person was truly clear.

Sometimes he guided a practice.

Sometimes we sat in silence.

Sometimes there were reflections and sharing after he left.

The sessions flowed naturally. No planning was needed. No filtering was required. Mohanji was entirely spontaneous both in topic and response.

What was evident and truly unique was that beyond his words and answers, there was a deep communion of energy. Hundreds of people attending online, across continents and time zones, could feel it even on a virtual platform.

Often, while Mohanji responded to a single question, many others found their own unspoken questions answered simultaneously. Multiple inner quests seemed to dissolve in one response. This is why it became a phenomenon.

Something works beyond the spoken words beyond questions and answers through the lightness of his humour, through moments of silence, through a glance, through presence itself. It is difficult to describe and impossible to intellectualise. It can only be experienced.

Consistency Beyond Logic

While everyone was thrilled that Mohanji was coming online every Sunday, I quietly wondered what would happen when he travelled which he does frequently.

As I write this at the end of January 2026, it has now been 37 weeks since the first Weekly Talk on 18th May 2025 and not a single Sunday has been missed during this period.

During this time, Mohanji has travelled extensively within India and across the world:

Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the USA, South America, Dubai, Nepal, Mauritius, South Africa, Australia… I may have missed a few. Honestly, it’s hard to keep track.

Different countries. Different time zones. Yet, no change.

While in South America, Mohanji joined the session at 5:00 AM.

While in Australia, he stayed on the call until 11:00 PM.

There were days when he attended multiple events from early morning, travelled four hours on the road in heavy rain, and still made it to the Weekly Talk on time.

Because he knows his people are waiting.

And he speaks—for two hours, non-stop.

No tiredness.

No hesitation.

No frustration.

No impatience.

Just presence.

Just love.

When Presence Transcends the Body

Not just travel and time zones—there were situations that would normally compel anyone to take time off. Not merely fatigue or physical exhaustion, but circumstances where rest would be the most reasonable choice. Yet, several months after the Weekly Talks began, something extraordinary happened—something that revealed how Mohanji relates to pain, responsibility, and compassion. I was a direct witness to this.

On 6th June, a few weeks after the Weekly Talks started, I had the opportunity to meet Mohanji in person at his Ganeshpuri Ashram. I was there only for a day. That day, Mohanji appeared slightly feverish and was experiencing pain in his left ear and jaw. Before leaving, I sought his permission and offered healing.

During the healing, I was shown something deeply unsettling. I saw that Mohanji had taken physical pain onto his own face in order to avert a much larger paralysis in one of his devotees. In the vision, I saw Mohanji’s face paralysed. Even witnessing this inwardly was frightening.

The next morning, with hesitation, I conveyed what I had seen. Calmly, he acknowledged it and said, “Yes, the left side of my face feels almost paralysed.” Later that same evening, he was medically diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.

The following day was Sunday the Weekly Talk.

Gently, and with concern, I asked him whether he would like to cancel the session, as speaking itself would clearly be difficult. His response was simple and firm. He said he had never stopped his work because of physical ailments. His people were waiting, and he could not disappoint them.

When the time for the Weekly Talk arrived, Mohanji joined.

The moment people saw him on screen, a deep silence fell. His left eye would not blink. Part of his lip could not close. His cheek had visibly dropped. Water continuously flowed from his left eye and from the side of his mouth. As he began to speak, he calmly explained his condition and then said he would continue answering questions.

A hush of sorrow and astonishment fell pain at seeing the Guru in distress, and awe at his unwavering compassion. He set aside his suffering for us all.

My own heart was breaking. Yet I had to remain composed, serving as moderator while containing the surge of emotion within. The Bell’s Palsy lasted almost three months. And during that entire period, Mohanji continued relentlessly attending important events, travelling across countries, and never missing the Weekly Talk.

Not one week. Not two.

Three full months.

This was something unseen, unheard of.

On another occasion, Mohanji was in an area experiencing heavy rains and flooding, which disrupted the power supply. The Weekly Talk had just begun when the power went out. Yet Mohanji did not stop. He continued answering questions for the full two hours.

Later, I saw a photograph from that room. Mohanji was sitting in pitch darkness, laptop open, speaking steadily—answering questions, holding space, present.

Travel, health, circumstances—nothing wavered him from his duty. Because his duty is not driven by obligation, but by purpose. Not by discipline alone, but by love. Love for his people.

The Impact — A Living Global Communication

One Year!

Hundreds of participants.

Six continents.

Over thirty countries.

People have joined these weekly talks from all parts of the world including regions affected by war, conflict, and political turmoil. Mohanji has allowed everyone to join without barriers, discrimination, or restrictions. Through these sessions, people feel empowered, protected, and supported. This is not an assumption—it is something hundreds of participants consistently witness and experience.

Those who attend are not only seasoned spiritual seekers. They include children (often accompanied by their parents), youth, working professionals, homemakers, and retirees—people of all races, all religions, and all ages. The questions are real, raw, and deeply personal. And Mohanji’s answers do not merely satisfy curiosity; they transform.

Whether the question is about health, work, relationships, emotional struggle, or the deepest layers of spiritual inquiry, Mohanji responds with the same depth, clarity, honesty, and compassion. There is no hierarchy of importance. Every question is met fully. And that is why the effect is transformative.

Why “Unscripted”?

We named this book “Unscripted” because that is exactly what these weekly talks are.

Nothing is rehearsed.

Nothing is filtered.

Nothing is manufactured.

This book brings these sessions exactly as they are Mohanji’s spontaneous sharings, his responses to questions, and the lived experiences of participants whose lives have been touched and changed through these communications.

To reflect this, the book is structured into three sections:

Section A: Mohanji Speaks

Opening insights and guidance from the weekly sessions.

Section B: Questions, Clarity & Insight

Live questions from participants and Mohanji’s direct, transformative responses.

Section C: Reflections from the Heart

Personal experiences and testimonials shared by participants worldwide.

The Intention

The aim of this book is simple yet profound—to transfer the effect.

Not just information.

Not just words.

But the living impact of these sessions.

An impact that flows through Mohanji’s presence, his answers, his silences, and the subtle communication that happens beyond speech. An impact meant not only for today or tomorrow, but for years to come—for anyone who opens this book with sincerity.

What flows through these pages is not just content.

It is continuity.

It is communication.

It is living Raja Yoga—unscripted.

Words of Gratitude

I do not think I will ever have enough words to fully express my gratitude to Mohanji for giving us not just time and wisdom, but an opportunity for deep and genuine transformation.

On a personal note, it has been both a privilege and an honour that Mohanji entrusted me with the role of moderator for these weekly sessions. To witness this phenomenon unfold week after week has been nothing short of a miracle in my own life. That I was able to attend every single session, consistently, without interruption, is something I do not take for granted. I clearly recognise the grace of my Guru behind this blessing making it possible, again and again.

Thank you, Mohanji.

Gratitude to the Team

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to several people whose dedication made this journey possible.

My sincere thanks to Mohanji’s personal team—especially Thea, who travels with him and ensures that network connectivity, laptop, camera, and all technical necessities are always in place. Because of her constant attention and care, hundreds of participants across six continents and multiple time zones can see and hear Mohanji clearly, wherever he is in the world.

My deep thanks to Nikolina, who has supported me throughout these sessions—hosting Zoom, coordinating with translators, handling technical support during Q&A, and ensuring that every participant has the best possible experience. The smooth, seamless flow of these live sessions is a true testimony to her sincerity, dedication, and tireless effort.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the translators, Asja, Karina, Dalila, Nikunj, Monika Nedic, Susan, Tijana, Mirela, representing many languages, who translate simultaneously from the moment the session opens until it closes. This is not an easy task—though it is a blessed one. It requires complete surrender, sharp awareness, and deep dedication to translate spontaneously while keeping pace with Mohanji’s clarity, speed, and depth. Hats off to each one of them.

My sincere thanks to Monika, Ananth, Maheswari, Anja, Ambika, Alua, Rekha, Lucija and many others who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes—supporting multiple aspects of this work, from emails and communications to website management, creating reels, and managing social media. Their quiet dedication and consistent effort have been invaluable.

As the Mohanji Team, we collectively recognise this grace and this extraordinary privilege. With sincere gratitude, we offer it back to Mohanji. May this Weekly Talk phenomenon continue for many, many more weeks—touching lives and transforming hearts.
